The 24th Mardi Gras Film Festival kicks off this week and they have a programme crammed full of films that have been restricted for persons aged 15 and over unless accompanied by an adult.
Our picks:
Teenage Kicks – When his brother dies unexpectedly, 17-year-old Miklós Varga’s world is completely spun off its axis.
Being 17 – A realistic tale of two teenagers who mask their growing sexual attraction with apparent vehement dislike.
1.54 – Tim’s last five years have been incredibly tough, and it’s not about to get easier. He is constantly harassed by bullies at high school and on the internet, and his greatest fear is that the secret of his sexuality will get out.
Coming Out – Coming Out is a brave and intimate documentary in which Alden Peters records, in detail, his coming out to his close friends and family, and all the emotions that come along with that process. An all ages free screening.
